Who we are

BookFlightSchools (bookflightschools.com) is an independent directory of flight schools, run by BAMBAM LLC. We are the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us about privacy at admin@bookflightschools.com.

What we collect and why

• Enquiries. When you send an enquiry to a school we collect your name, email address, the course you are interested in and your message. We pass these to the school by email so it can reply to you directly, and keep a copy so a school that claims its listing can read it. Legal basis: taking steps at your request (contract) and our legitimate interest in running the directory.
• Reports. When you report an error on a listing or ask for a listing to be removed, we collect your email address, your name if you give it, and your message, so we can act on it and reply.
• School accounts. When a school representative signs up or claims a listing we collect their name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), and the details they add to their listing. Legal basis: contract.
• Technical data. Our server briefly uses your IP address to block spam and abuse (for example limiting how many enquiries can be sent per hour). We do not use it to identify you or build a profile.
• Location. If you choose "near me" in search, your browser shares your approximate location with the page to sort schools by distance. It is used for that search only and not stored.

We do not sell personal information, show advertising, or use analytics or tracking cookies.

School listings

Listings are compiled from public sources: national aviation authority lists and schools' own websites. They contain business information such as the school's name, address, phone number, website, courses, prices, aircraft and photos from its website. Where a listing includes a named person, it is because that information is published by the school. A school can claim its listing to correct it, or ask us to remove it through the "Report" link on the listing or by emailing us.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are needed for the site to work: a sign-in cookie for school accounts and a security cookie that protects forms. These do not track you across other sites, so we do not ask for consent to them.

Who we share information with

• The school you contact receives your enquiry.
• Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France) sends our emails.
• Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) hosts our servers and database.
• School pages show a map from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when the map loads.

BAMBAM LLC is based in the United States, so information may be accessed from there. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and reports are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. School account details are kept while the account is open and deleted within 90 days of closing it. If you unsubscribe from enquiry emails we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so we can respect that choice.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the UK and the European Union), you can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to or restrict how we use it, or receive a copy of it. Email admin@bookflightschools.com and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
